Cloth Care
Caring for Your Rang Preet
Every piece we make is crafted with care. A little attention goes a long way in keeping your garments as beautiful as the day you first wore them.

+Washing Instructions
+- Turn your garment inside out before washing to protect the outer fabric and any surface embroidery or print.
- Use cold water only. Hot water causes colours to run and fabric to shrink, especially in lawn and cotton suits.
- Choose a gentle, pH-neutral detergent. Avoid harsh chemicals or bleach-based products entirely.
- For embroidered or embellished pieces, hand wash only. Do not put them in a machine — even on a delicate cycle.
- Do not soak for more than 10 minutes. Prolonged soaking weakens fabric fibres and dulls colour over time.
- Rinse thoroughly with clean water until all soap is removed. Leftover detergent stiffens the fabric.
- Do not wring. Gently press out excess water and lay flat or hang in shade to dry.
Ironing & Finishing
+- Always iron on the reverse side of the fabric to prevent shine or damage to the outer surface.
- Use a pressing cloth between the iron and any embroidered, printed, or embellished area.
- Set your iron to the temperature suited to your fabric type — low for silks and synthetics, medium for cotton and lawn.
- Never iron directly over sequins, beads, or threadwork. The heat will melt or distort them permanently.
- Steam can be used lightly for chiffon and georgette dupattas to remove creases without direct contact.
- Store ironed garments immediately to avoid re-creasing before wear.
Storage
+Fold, Don't Hang
Heavy embroidered pieces should be folded and stored flat. Hanging causes the fabric to stretch and distort over time.
Use Muslin Covers
Wrap delicate or formal pieces in soft muslin or cotton cloth. Avoid plastic bags — they trap moisture and cause yellowing.
Keep Away from Light
Store garments in a cool, dark place. Direct sunlight fades colours quickly, especially in bright or printed fabrics.
Air Regularly
Take your stored pieces out every few months and let them breathe in open air for a few hours. This prevents musty odours.
Cedar Over Chemicals
Use natural cedar balls to keep insects away. Avoid mothballs — the chemicals can damage delicate fibres and leave a lasting smell.
Separate by Colour
Store dark and light garments separately, especially if any colour bleeding occurred during the first wash.
